From the workbench to your home

Welcome to our world of woodworking! Here, we share the stories, inspirations, and processes behind every unique planter crafted at Next Chapter Woodworks. Get a glimpse into our passion for creating beautiful, handmade pieces.

The heart of the craft

Every piece from Next Chapter Woodworks begins right here at the workbench.

This is where ideas turn into sketches, rough lumber becomes something new, and each planter slowly takes shape one cut, one sanding pass, and one detail at a time.

The shop is where the Adopt-A-Planter animals are born — pigs, sheep, dachshunds, horses, and whatever new characters decide to wander in next. Sometimes they’re finished quickly, and sometimes they evolve as the project takes shape.

From time to time I like to share a look behind the scenes. You might see a new planter in progress, a fresh design being tested, or the early stages of something that will soon be heading to the farmyard.

Many of these pieces find homes before they ever make it to the market.

So if you see something on the workbench that catches your eye, don’t hesitate to reach out — it might still be looking for a home.

Our humble workshop

Our workspace is a cozy corner in Cabot, Arkansas, filled with the scent of sawdust and the hum of tools. We love using our trusty band saw for precise cuts and a good set of chisels for the fine details. For wood, we have a special fondness for oak and pine; oak for its beautiful grain and durability, and pine for its versatility. When it comes to finishes, we prefer natural oils and waxes that bring out the wood's inherent beauty and protect it for years to come.

Dreaming up new designs

We're constantly dreaming up new planter designs! Currently, we're exploring modular planters that can be reconfigured and wall-mounted options for smaller spaces. Our inspiration often comes from nature, modern architecture, and even everyday objects. A walk in the woods or a visit to a local art gallery can spark an idea that eventually takes shape on our workbench. The possibilities with wood are endless, and that's what keeps us excited for the next project.

"Starting next chapter woodworks has been an incredible journey. It's taught me so much about craftsmanship and the joy of creating."
